Welcome to DumuAfya. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the DumuAfya website, mobile application, and our proactive health management services (the “Platform”). By using DumuAfya, you agree to these Terms.
THE DUMUAFYA SERVICES
DumuAfya provides a digital health platform focused on longevity and chronic care management. Our services include:
- AI-Powered Health Insights: Personalized health monitoring and risk assessments.
- Chronic Disease Management: Specialized programs for conditions like Diabetes and Hypertension
- Preventive Care: Health coaching, longevity planning, and proactive screenings.
- Health Navigation: Coordination between users, labs, and specialized healthcare providers.
NO MEDICAL ADVICE FOR EMERGENCIES
DumuAfya is not an emergency medical service. * Our Platform and AI tools are designed for long-term health optimization and chronic care management, not for acute emergencies.
- In the event of a medical emergency, you must contact local emergency services or visit the nearest hospital immediately.
- The AI-generated insights and health coaching provided are for informational and management purposes and do not replace the clinical judgment of a licensed physician in a physical examination.
USER ELIGIBILITY & ACCOUNTS
- Age: You must be 18 years or older to create an account.
- Accuracy of Data: DumuAfya’s AI and coaching effectiveness depends on the accuracy of the data you provide (e.g., blood pressure readings, glucose levels, medical history). You agree to provide truthful and up-to-date information.
- Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials.
SUBSCRIPTION AND PAYMENTS
As outlined in our service packages:
- Fees: Access to certain longevity and chronic care programs requires a subscription fee.
- Billing: By selecting a plan, you authorize DumuAfya to charge the specified fees via your chosen payment method (Mobile Money, Credit Card, etc.).
- Cancellations: You may cancel your subscription at any time; however, fees already paid for the current billing cycle are non-refundable.
DATA PRIVACY & THE HEALTH PASSPORT
Your use of the Platform is governed by the DumuAfya Privacy Policy.
- Health Data: We collect sensitive health information to provide personalized care.
- Compliance: We comply with the Data Protection Act (2019) and other relevant regional health data regulations.
- Ownership: You retain ownership of your health data, but you grant DumuAfya the right to use de-identified, aggregated data to improve our AI algorithms and health outcomes.
PROPER USE OF THE PLATFORM
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform to self-diagnose life-threatening conditions.
- Circumvent any security features or "scrape" data from the Platform.
- Use the AI insights to modify prescription medication dosages without consulting a clinician.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The "DumuAfya" name, logos, AI algorithms, and the "Longevity Score" methodology are the exclusive property of DumuAfya. You are granted a limited, personal license to use these tools for your own health management.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
DumuAfya aims for the highest accuracy in its AI and coaching. However, to the extent permitted by law:
- DumuAfya is not liable for health outcomes resulting from inaccurate data provided by the user.
- DumuAfya is not liable for any technical interruptions or data loss beyond our reasonable control.
MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
As DumuAfya grows and adds new health features, we may update these Terms. Your continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
